The fifteenth anniversary edition of Light.Move.Festival. is just three weeks away! This year’s event is a real treat for music fans. In addition to the 2D/3D mappings, large-format projections, animations and art installations loved by audiences, festival-goers can look forward to nine different music stops!
This is what the festival will sound like
“We wanted every visitor to be able to listen to their favourite music genre. There will be no shortage of alternative, jazz, pop and electronic music, as well as pieces played by orchestras,” emphasises Beata Konieczniak, artistic director of Light.Move.Festival. The rich artistic programme and numerous surprises are sure to amaze festival-goers, and Łódź will become the capital of light and music for the fifteenth time.
The monumental Poznański Family Palace, or the Festival’s Main Stage
The palace balcony facing Ogrodowa Street will once again be transformed into a unique music stage! On the last weekend of September, the Rebel Babel Ensemble Orchestra, a collective founded by Łukasz ‘L.U.C.’ Rostkowski, producer, composer and author of the soundtrack for the film ‘Chłopi’ (The Peasants), will return to the stage. The group, which brings together musicians performing a variety of musical genres, will be joined by exceptional soloists: Natalia Kukulska, one of the most famous and respected Polish singers; Mery Spolsky, an award-winning singer who is the voice of the younger generation; and Eldo, a Polish rapper, songwriter and radio journalist. De Mono, a pop-rock band whose songs have remained on the Polish charts for over three decades, will also perform in the palace setting. The audience will also hear Hengelo, a band creating music inspired by the 1980s, contemporary rock and broadly understood alternative music.
Music will also fill the Palace garden. For the first time in the history of Light. Move.Festival. live music will complement the moving mapping ‘Marzenie’ (Dream), presented in the courtyard. This unique challenge was taken up by the talented Polish composer and pianist Michał Kawecki, who composed the piece especially for the 15th edition of the light festival.
Move Stage – sounds will fill the space of Staromiejski Park
A stop for fans of unusual sounds. The OSP Nadarzyn Orchestra, considered one of the best brass bands in Poland and the world, will surprise viewers with its extraordinary show combined with a parade from 32 Piotrkowska Street to Staromiejski Park. Winners of numerous awards and champions of Poland, Europe and the world, they have carried out joint artistic projects with renowned Polish stars, including Zbigniew Wodecki, Justyna Steczkowska and Dawid Podsiadło, with whom they embarked on a stadium tour. The Move Stage will also feature Bonaventura, a Polish singer, composer and songwriter who creates atmospheric, melancholic ballads. The artist is also a finalist of the ‘Must Be The Music’ programme.
Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city at the Chill Stage in Sienkiewicz Park
A treat for fans of calm sounds. Gooral will perform on stage – an artist who creates a unique combination of highlander folklore and electronic music. In recent years, he has begun to create delightful, downtempo sounds with music based on solfeggio frequencies and A-432 Hz tuning. Marek Niedzielski, a vocalist who also plays the drums, will also appear in the park. With his warm, intriguing voice, he tells remarkable stories to the rhythm of characteristic indie pop. Piotr Paduszyński, a pianist and composer who creates works rooted in neoclassical, illustrative and film music, will also surprise the audience. Stage
