Unforgettable stories told on the palace walls – Light.Move.Festival. returns to the Poznański Family Palace.
The 15th anniversary edition of the LMF is fast approaching! This year’s event, held under the theme‘Returns’, will provide viewers with many unforgettable experiences – there will be plenty of new features and surprises. “The festival will return to locations beloved by Łódź residents and tourists alike. One of them will be the unique 19th-century neo-baroque Poznański Family Palace – a true gem among Łódź’s monuments, which currently houses the Museum of the City of Łódź,” emphasises Hanna Zdanowska, Mayor of Łódź. “At Light.Move.Festival., we will have the opportunity to bring its amazing façade on Ogrodowa Street to life with light. For the first time in history, we will also invite viewers to its courtyard – to the amazing palace garden – to highlight its beauty with the medium of light and live music,” she adds.

The unique architectural details of the palace will be highlighted by mapping created by the French visual artists Spectaculaires. The artists, renowned for their skilful storytelling, specialise in stimulating the imagination and delighting the senses of their audience. Their mapping shows are monumental displays of images, captivating light trails and great visual detail, emphasises Beata Konieczniak, architect, artistic director and creator of Light.Move.Festival. LMF viewers may remember them from 2014 and 2015, when they presented, among other things, an amazing mapping on Plac Wolności in Łódź.
The Poznański Family Palace is also a unique musical stop on the LMF map. Three festival evenings will be graced by musical performances in the balcony setting of the 19th-century palace. The performers will include Natalia Kukulska, Natalia Przybysz, Eldo, Rebel Babel Ensemble, the band HENGELO and the band De Mono.

For the first time in history, festival viewers will be invited to the extraordinary garden of the Poznański Family estate. At the rear of the palace, where part of the historic park architecture and original vegetation have been preserved, and three of the trees have been declared natural monuments since 2024, a moving spectacle engaging the senses of the participants will be presented.
On the façade of the courtyard, festival-goers will be treated to a visual story based on the poem ‘Marzenie’ (Dream) by Abraham (Abramek) Koplowicz, a young boy who was a victim of the Holocaust, presented in the form of images. The authors of the 2D/3D mapping are the Bulgarian creative group MP-Studio. An integral part of the show will be the music of the award-winning Polish pianist and composer from Łódź, Michał Kawecki, along with his live performance, adds Beata Konieczniak.
During Light.Move.Festival, the artist will present his own compositions, created for an extremely moving project inspired by Abraham Koplowicz’s poem. The work is a poignant reflection on freedom, imagination and unfulfilled desires – it transcends physical barriers, following the boundless dreams of a child who imagines a world full of beauty, adventure and discovery. Written in the Łódź ghetto before the author was deported to Auschwitz, where he died at the age of 14. “Screened in the courtyard of the Poznański Palace, on the edge of the former Łódź ghetto, the work fits in with the festival’s theme of ‘Returns’, transforming the important memory of past events into illumination, and loss into hope,” emphasises Beata Konieczniak. It was hope, in spite of the horror of reality, that smouldered in the young poets of the ghetto. Hope that grew in spite of fear, she adds.
