<\/p>\nThe fifteenth anniversary edition of Light.Move.Festival. is just four weeks away! This year’s event, held under the theme\u2018Returns,\u2019 is sure to surprise festival-goers \u2013 there will be plenty of new features, surprises, and returns to the best of the Festival.<\/p>\n
This year’s festival will feature, among other things, 2D\/3D mappings, large-format projections, animations, and numerous art installations, all of which are beloved by viewers. \u201cOnce again, \u0141\u00f3d\u017a will become the capital of light art, attracting the best visual artists from around the world,\u201d emphasises Beata Konieczniak, artistic director and creator of Light.Move.Festival. \u201cThe unique architecture of \u0141\u00f3d\u017a deserves to have its beauty and detail highlighted, and this will be taken care of by the wonderful artists invited to create the festival programme,\u201d she adds. There will also be plenty to see in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a’s parks, squares and arcades. The diversity of the works means that every viewer will be able to find something to suit their taste.<\/p>\n

During the last weekend of September, \u0141\u00f3d\u017a’s architectural gems will once again change their appearance, all thanks to spectacular projections on buildings. The tenement house at 99 Piotrkowska Street will be illuminated by a group of visual artists from Lviv, who, drawing on tradition, will present a mapping that visualises the cycle of existence, similar to the annual cycle of seasons. The most famous street in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a will also surprise visitors at number 76, where they will see unique mappings commemorating the Festival. Leaving Piotrkowska Street, we will find ourselves at 6 Tuwima Street \u2013 a historic tenement house that will be illuminated with the help of Canadian artist Pedro Narvaez. Through images and colour, the artist will tell viewers about the unique history of the industrial boom in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a.<\/p>\n
LMF 2025 also marks a return to long-standing festival locations \u2013 at the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross at 38 Sienkiewicza Street, Polish artist S\u0142awomir F\u0105fara will present an immersive mapping. The unique architectural detail of the \u2018\u0141\u00f3d\u017a Louvre\u2019, i.e. the Pozna\u0144ski family palace, will be highlighted by the work of the French visual artist group Spectaculaires. Its magical courtyard will be illuminated for the first time \u2013 accompanied by music composed by Micha\u0142 Kawecki, a moving story will be presented graphically by the Bulgarian visual artists MP-Studio.<\/p>\n
Festival-goers will also be treated to large-format projections. German artist Claudia Reh will bring the old trees of Staromiejski Park to life with references to Polish cinema, while Polish group Liquidacje will breathe new energy into the greenery of Sienkiewicza Park, transforming the tree crowns into three-dimensional images. The Hungarian group F\u00e9nysz\u00f3r\u00f3 will create the first ever 360-degree projection at Plac Wolno\u015bci, transporting viewers to the underwater world of the avant-garde. The artists will also \u2018colour\u2019 Piotrkowska Street from numbers 1 to 5. Polish visual artist Ari Dykier will introduce viewers to the world of dreams and symbols in his original style, emphasising the importance of technology in the development of \u0141\u00f3d\u017a.<\/p>\n

LMF 2025 also features extraordinary spatial installations. Once again, \u0141\u00f3d\u017a’s parks, squares and passages will be filled with light artworks after dark. The Old Town Park will feature, among others, a 125-metre-long installation entitled \u2018For peace!\u2019, by Slovak artist Sedemminut, consisting of 50 two-metre figures, and a five-metre futuristic light sculpture entitled \u2018Parallel Mind\u2019 by Romanian artist Sergiu Doroftei, depicting a human head. In the immediate vicinity of the works, there will also be a huge \u2018Krosno\u2019 by Przemys\u0142aw Podolski, which will refer to the city’s textile history.<\/p>\n
For three evenings, Sienkiewicz Park will be transformed into a magical land that will enchant not only the youngest visitors to the LMF KIDS zone. Visitors will be able to discover, among other things, a meadow covered with luminous flowers, several-metre-high mushrooms, huge flying dragonflies, as well as over three-metre-high eyes looking around the nooks and crannies of the \u0141\u00f3d\u017a park.<\/p>\n
While walking around the festival area, it is also worth visiting Schiller Passage, where the multimedia installation \u2018Double Flux\u2019 by the French group Scale Collectif will be located. At Plac Komuny Paryskiej, viewers will experience an immersive performance by the Latvian group Those Guys Lighting. Their unique installation will combine laser beams, music and special effects. At Plac Wolno\u015bci, viewers will see a 13-metre-high \u2018Sun\u2019 shining brightly in the night sky. This work was created by Polish artist Jaros\u0142aw Koziara. The author will also surprise viewers at 53 Piotrkowska Street \u2013 don’t miss it!<\/p>\n
